Zolpidem.

Zolpidem is a medicine often prescribed for the treatment of insomnia in people who have trouble falling or staying asleep. In some very rare cases this medicine may cause allergic reactions that can be avoided if you are careful with taking it. Any signs of an allergic reaction, such as hives, rash or swelling, must be reported directly to your health care provider. This medicine is intended for falling asleep and staying asleep for 7-8 hours, so make sure you can afford to spend all that time sleeping and will not need to get up before that. Make sure you talk to your health care provider before starting the treatment and tell him about any other medical problems you have (besides insomnia that is) that may affect the success of your treatment. The following medical conditions are important to mention: suicidal thoughts, liver disease, myasthenia gravis, kidney disease, a history of drug or alcohol addiction, asthma, sleep apnea, mental illness, and bronchitis. An overdose of zolpidem can be fatale, so any overdose symptoms must be reported to your doctor immediately. The following ones are possible: sleepiness, shallow breathing, confusion, feeling light-headed, fainting, and coma.
